I LOVE Halloween!! I also love to decorate for Halloween too! I have a collection of decorations from over the years and every year, I do something different with all of them.
I also like to incorporate my fall decorations into my spooky ones so I don’t have to redo decorations for Thanksgiving–I just have to remove the spooky items and I am good to go!
Places I shop for Halloween decor:
**Dollar Tree & Five Below –great for fillers and little add ins!
**Home Goods/TJ Maxx–you can find some AMAZING items priced fairly!
**Thrift shops/Goodwill–I have found some great finds!!
To help coordinate and decorate areas within my home, I put areas into themes. Entryways, mantals and window areas are great for decorations to create a fun & spooky setting. I like to use faux leaves and black netting to accent and add as fillers. I have a giant window in my home that I call the apothecary window and it is perfect to decorate with creepy potions and skulls. Also, things look better in groups and not spread out. Items have a more dramatic effect when displayed together.
The main thing is to have fun and not spend a lot of money. My collection started small and I add little things every year. My kids are grown now, but they still look forward to my holiday decorations every year. When they were little, they loved helping me put everything out to display. Life is too short not to have fun and celebrate even the little things!
